Courses are developed and delivered by leading veterinarians, researchers, and animal ethics specialists with decades of experience.
We go beyond compliance, equipping students and institutions with the knowledge and mindset to lead in humane, responsible animal research.
This online, self-paced module equips students and researchers with the knowledge required to ethically and competently work with aquatic species, specifically fish, frogs, and toads, across laboratory, seawater, freshwater, and aquaculture environments.
Combining species biology, welfare science, husbandry, and research ethics, this course places particular focus on the use of zebrafish as an experimental model in biomedical science. Participants will gain an understanding of stress, pain, and humane treatment in aquatic species, alongside practical insights into the handling of aquaria and farmed species.
Completion of this module, alongside the Core Module, satisfies HPRA requirements for individual authorisation involving aquatic animals.
